Local AI for business documents

Ask about handbooks, procedures and project documents on your own computer. LokLM is a personal desktop workspace for staff, rather than a centrally managed team wiki.

A first workflow to try

  1. Choose the documents

Choose a current, internally approved handbook covering one process. Import only documents you are authorized to access.

  2. Ask a specific question

What steps does the handbook give for handling a return, and when is approval needed?
  3. Check the answer against the original

Compare each step with the approved version and check exceptions. Keep the original procedure and its owner as the basis for decisions.

Can several people edit the same workspace?

LokLM is a local desktop application. It does not offer shared live editing, centralized roles or a synchronized team vault. Use separate installations and the original documents approved by your organization.

How do I start with an internal handbook?

Import an approved, current version into its own workspace. Wait for indexing, ask a specific question and open the cited source. Check the version date and the scope of the procedure.

Does an AI answer replace our approved procedure?

No. The approved original document remains authoritative. The model can misattribute sources or miss contradictions; check the process before acting on it.
